Question 1

What’s the difference between a replacement deed poll and a new deed poll?

Accepted Answer

A replacement is for when you’ve already changed your name in the past and need another copy. A new deed poll is for a new name change.

Question 2

Can I order multiple copies?

Accepted Answer

Yes — extra copies can help when updating multiple organisations.

Question 3

What if I don’t remember the exact date of my old deed poll?

Accepted Answer

Use your best estimate. If you’re unsure, provide the closest information you can in the application.

Question 4

Will organisations accept a replacement deed poll?

Accepted Answer

Most organisations accept properly completed documents, but requirements can vary by organisation.

Question 5

Can I replace a child deed poll?

Accepted Answer

Yes — but changing a child’s name typically requires consent from everyone with parental responsibility (or a court order).

Question 6

How many witnesses are needed?

Accepted Answer

Your documents will include the correct signing and witness instructions. Use independent witnesses where possible.

Question 7

What if my previous deed poll had an error?

Accepted Answer

If the details were incorrect, a new deed poll may be more appropriate. Contact us before ordering if you’re unsure.

Question 8

How long does it take?

Accepted Answer

We aim to prepare your deed papers within one business day.

Question 9

Is this legal advice?

Accepted Answer

No — we provide document preparation and guidance, not legal advice.
