Change your name on the Electoral Register (Electoral Roll) – UK
If you’ve changed your name by deed poll, you should update your details on the electoral register (sometimes called the electoral roll). The simplest way is to register again using your new name. GOV.UK says you’ll need to register again if you’ve changed your name, address or nationality.

Your National Insurance number (if you have one — you can still register without it)
Step-by-step: update your name on the electoral register

Register again using your new name (online is fastest). GOV.UK confirms you need to register again after a name change.

Enter your current address, date of birth, and National Insurance number (if you have it).

Wait for confirmation from your local electoral registration office (they may contact you if they need to verify anything).

If you want to control privacy, choose whether to be on the open register (you can opt in/out via your electoral registration office).

If you don’t have a National Insurance number, you can still register — follow the prompts and your electoral registration office will advise what they need.
